Our Preparation Process

Exterior Painting That Lasts

Our exterior paint jobs are built to last—often twice as long as the average painter’s work—because we never cut corners on preparation or materials. We follow a detailed, step-by-step process to ensure maximum durability, protection, and curb appeal.

Our Proven 6-Step Painting Process:

  1. Thorough Washing
We power wash the entire exterior using a solution of bleach and Jomax to eliminate dirt, mildew, and organic growth—creating a clean surface for paint to properly adhere.

  2. Secure Loose Clapboards
All loose clapboards are nailed tight using stainless steel fasteners to prevent future shifting and damage.

  3. Surface Prep: Scraping, Grinding & Sanding
We carefully remove any peeling or loose paint using professional scraping tools, grinders, and sanders to create a smooth, stable surface.

  4. High-Bond Primer Application
We apply Peel Bond primer, a thick, flexible primer designed to seal and strengthen weathered surfaces and improve adhesion for the topcoat.

  5. Seamless Caulking
All gaps, seams, and joints—including around trim, corner boards, and clapboards—are caulked to seal out moisture and prevent future cracking or paint failure.

  6. Premium Paint or Stain Finish
We finish with two full coats of Benjamin Moore paint or solid stain, known for its durability, fade resistance, and long-lasting color.
